The Nyimur Multipurpose project is a transboundary water resources project between the governments of Uganda and South Sudan. Addressing the workshop participants during the Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Inception workshop in Entebbe, Uganda on 12th July 2016, the Chairman of Lamwo District, Mr. Komakech John Ogwok, informed the meeting that the people of Lamwo district are excited about the project.
He reiterated that his district and the Member of Parliament of the area will do whatever is in their powers to garner as much support as possible from the people for the project. He assured the consultants and NBI/NELSAP that the district will provide a good good working environment to assist the consultants while in the field to conduct their studies. He assured to help them access the projects sites and interact with the communities, work with relevant government officials and minimize the risks from land mines in the project area.For more information,please
